Perfect 10/10

Carried the two hardest stations in the 5-PLC production line on the live test, on one of the program’s most failed courses.

Overview

In the Automation Lab course at Universidad Anáhuac Mayab, this final group project required building a complete 5-station production line controlled by five interconnected Siemens PLCs driving real electropneumatic hardware.

I took ownership of the two most complex stations — the Vertical Warehouse (Station 3) and the Main Conveyor (Station 5) — and authored the full PLC logic for every station during preparation. The line processed multiple carts in parallel: Station 1 discriminated and loaded colored pieces, Station 2 handled pneumatic pick-and-place with a multi-mode turn-table, Station 3 managed customizable warehouse storage/retrieval using permutation logic, Station 4 performed human-assisted color sorting, and Station 5 orchestrated the entire sequence via custom inter-PLC communication.

The challenge peaked in the 4-hour live exam where the professor made real-time modifications and teams could not communicate. I not only completed both of my demanding stations but also supported the full system, turning a high-demand project into a flawless demonstration of robust industrial control.
